Hands-on courses

Safe and confident at sea

You hold a licence – perhaps you even own a boat. Yet very few owners and skippers feel one hundred percent confident, simply because time to build real experience is scarce. With us you learn, hands-on, what safe and routine yacht handling takes.

The courses

Two practical courses – from basics to blue water

Practical training: preparing lines and passage plan at the dock

All-Rounder Course (3 days)

The essentials for every sailor: harbour manoeuvres, navigation, yacht checks and coastal passages. Questions we answer in practice: Will the anchor hold? Will docking work out? How do I read weather, chartplotter and radar? How do I lead the crew?

Skipper course at sea

Skipper Course (7 days)

For skippers and advanced sailors: preparing for long passages, night sailing, offshore training, emergency management and psychology on board – the topics between holding a licence and true confidence.

Safety training

Yacht safety training for owners

Our safety training makes you proficient with the safety-relevant equipment on your own yacht – not just handling the boat, but using the critical devices correctly:

  • The MOB button on your GPS – what actually happens?
  • What are AIS and EPIRB, and how do I use them properly?
  • VHF: using channel 16 confidently in an emergency
  • Understanding and interpreting chartplotter and radar

A further focus: dealing with hazards and buoyage, your liferaft and distress signals – including the most important decision of all: when to abandon ship, and when not to.

Passage consulting: planning your own cruise or a long passage? We advise on route, season, equipment and crew – based on 30 years of delivery experience.
