Transparent calculation

Yacht delivery cost – explained transparently

The cheapest price should not be the deciding factor in a yacht delivery. What matters: realistic planning, the right crew, safe weather windows, clear communication and a traceable handover. Navismare calculates every delivery individually, so that cost, effort and process remain transparent.

The cost factors

What drives the cost of a yacht delivery?

There is no standard price – the cost results from several factors that vary considerably from project to project.

Yacht type and size

A 40-foot sailing yacht requires different planning than a 60-foot motor yacht. Larger yachts need more crew, more fuel and sometimes specific harbours. For motor yachts, fuel logistics along the route are decisive; for sailing yachts, the wind.

Route and waters

A delivery from Palma to Hamburg is fundamentally different from a Mediterranean coastal passage. Longer routes with an Atlantic crossing, or demanding waters such as the North Sea or the Caribbean, require more experienced skippers and more intensive planning.

Season and weather windows

The season directly affects passage length, watch systems and crew deployment. Autumn Atlantic passages demand longer planning and larger safety margins.

Crew requirements

Shorter coastal deliveries often run with a skipper and one deckhand. Offshore legs require at least a three-watch system – which significantly affects crew effort.

No hidden costs

What is included in the Navismare price?

Our quote is not a bare rate. The daily rate for skipper and crew includes:

  • Route planning and weather routing
  • Organisation and back office
  • Communication costs (Europe)
  • Charts and documentation
  • Structured handover at the destination

Travel to the yacht, harbour fees and provisioning are itemised separately – no hidden costs. Depending on scope we work with daily rates or fixed packages.

To reduce cost and environmental impact, we use favourable weather windows and motor at optimum revs.

Honest maths

DIY or professional – which really costs less?

Many owners only calculate the skipper's fee. The true cost of a poorly planned delivery – delays, damage, wrong weather windows – is often far higher. Navismare calculates realistically and avoids follow-up costs through careful preparation.

Our principle: you receive a clear assessment of route, weather windows and general conditions – without sugar-coating. We only take on projects that can be carried out safely.
